Meet Tammy Atkins
I develop governance frameworks and strategic documentation for organisations who’ve gotten stuck.
With over 25 years in regional development and more than a decade of board experience, I understand how organisations operate when resources are stretched and priorities compete. I’ve spent my career working with not-for-profits, government entities and regional communities - often stepping in when projects have stalled, staff have left, or deadlines are looming.
The work I love most is seeing what others have missed. Organisations often know something isn’t working but can’t pinpoint why. I bring the outside perspective that lets me identify the simple steps that got skipped, the connections that weren’t made, and the frameworks that will actually work on the ground.
2025 work included a governance framework for multidisciplinary practice in the community legal sector, a Climate Resilient Development framework for a regional partnership and strategic plans for small to medium not-for-profits.
Board experience
My consulting is grounded in governance. I’ve spent over a decade as a non-executive director, including eight years as Deputy Chair of Wodonga TAFE during its transformation into a commercially sustainable organisation.
I currently chair committees at Goulburn Valley Water (Safety, Service Standards and Environment) and Albury Wodonga Health (Community Engagement).
For boards navigating complexity and stakeholder challenges, I bring practical experience from both sides of the table - as a consultant who delivers and as a committee chair who understands how decisions get made.
Regional background
From growing up in Meekatharra to now living on a farm in Milawa, my thinking has been shaped by regional Australia. I understand how organisations operate when communities are watching.
